Cooking Techniques

Slow Cookers are a great way to save time and money. They turn more affordable cuts of meat into delicious entrees. Do the assembly work and then let the slow-cooker take over.
Slow-Cooker Recipes

Slow Cooker Tips & Tricks:

Master the mystery of this appliance and it will spend more time on your counter than in your cupboard.

* Don't fill it up. Your slow cooker should be one-half to two-thirds full. If it's too full, it will take too long to start simmering. If it's not full enough, you risk overcooking.
* Keep it thrifty. This long, moist cooking method is ideal for inexpensive cuts of meat, since it provides plenty of time for tenderizing.
* Leave it alone. Don't lift the lid, unless you want to extend the cooking time by 20 min. To check the progress, spin the lid until the condensation falls off. If the recipe gives you reason to lift the lid, replace it quickly.
* Customize it. If you want to thicken the juices or concentrate flavors, remove the lid and cook on HIGH for the last 30 min.
* Stick to the cooking time. Slow cookers work by simmering food at a low, even temperature, so adhere to the recipe.

Urdu Reading

Pakistani poetry

Pakistan has a rich and diverse tradition of poetry. This tradition partakes of Urdu poetry, Pakistan's national language and the regional languages of Pakistan including Sindhi poetry, Pashto poetry, Punjabi poetry, Seraiki poetry, Baluchi Poetry, and Kashmiri poetry. Sufi poetry known as Sufiana Kalam has a strong tradition in Pakistan and the poetry of popular Sufi poets is often recited and sung.

Persian poetry, is still common in Pakistan because of the centuries of Persian influence on the region. Many sufi poets wrote their Kalam in Persian. Pakistan's national poet Allama Mohammad Iqbal also wrote many volumes of poetry in Persian.

Poetry is widely read across Pakistan. Gatherings for thr recitations of poetry known as Mushaira frequently take place. Verses of popular poets are also used as political slogans by political activists.

The Exquisite Taste of Pakistani Cooking

In general Pakistani food is exceedingly well known for possessing full flavor. Most of the distinctive Pakistani dishes are very spicy. The cuisine and recipes vary depending on the specific area of Pakistan that the recipe hailed from.

The majority of Pakistani cooking recipes contain meat. Most main courses also contain curries, and some vegetables such as spinach, okra, potatoes, bitter gourd, rutabaga, eggplant and cauliflower. Lentils also receive favor in Pakistani cooking since it is an inexpensive filler.
Pakistani meals are usually accompanied by bread, unless the meal contains rice. The favorite bread is a flat round bread by the name of roti.

Although many different recipes are listed on the Internet to make Pakistani meals, it is interesting to at least see what is used for various specialties.
